Around the year 100 A.D., Jesus Christ assembled His disciples to form His church. According to what the New Testament says, Jesus came down from Heaven, died on the cross, and rose from the dead for us to be able to pass away, leave this world, and spend eternity with Him in Heaven. Everybody has sinned and fallen short of God's glory; sin has its price: death. For us to be freed from our sins and granted the prospect of eternal life, Jesus came to earth and took on the punishment that was rightfully ours.
